Victory

Sherron Collins . . . as much as he irritates me sometimes, I still can't deny that he makes awesome plays.

And my dad is right, KSU's colors are purple and concrete and KSU is lame. He would know, he went to KSU first and then graduated from KU. He is smart :)

Game Day in the Litter box of Doom

A friend of mine (though not a friend today) comment today via her post that KSU has all this "tradition" and how Bramlage (aka Allen Fieldhouse West) holds more people than Allen and how they have more students in their stands and blah blah blah blah blah. I'm here to say a very nice "Stuff It" to all wild kittens, KU rules. You all may be enjoying a fun few years with your Coach Martin but trust me, when the first real basketball school comes knocking Martin is going to take off (maybe sooner than you think) and you all will be left with an empty arena and stumbling players.

To the students of KSU I only have this to say: Please don't throw things on the court or at my players like you used to. It only embarrasses yourself and your school. Stay classy, we always do.

Oh and watch out for this guy

And we hate Mizzou more than we hate you. Sorry, you are the still the wallflower, standing in your litter box, that nobody wants to take to the dance.

Another reason to love KU

Last night at the KU vs MU game (so awesome) in Allen Fieldhouse (love it) where KU won by 19 points (we rule), KU had 80's rockstar Eddie Money sing the National Anthem.

His song "Take Me Home Tonight" may be one of my top 10 all time favorite songs. If only he would have sang that song at half time. If you can't remember which song I'm referring to then you must not have attended any of my 80's Dance Party USA's or been super cool dancing all night at the pavilion.

It would have been awesome if I was at the game. I think that the KU - MU game is one of my favorite events of the year and it is always the icing on the cake when we crush them. Missouri is the worst!

The Podany's First Earthquake

Turns out we had a legit earthquake this morning. It was a magnitude 5.8 but only lasted around 10-15 seconds. Nothing fell off the shelves or moved, but it was enough to freak me out! The phone lines were jammed after it happened but I did get ahold of Bob and learned they had evacuated their building. Here is the scoop via the US Geological Survey website:

Blending the Old and the New

In January a new class of senior accountants arrives on the island, which rejuvenates the social scene. Friday night Deloitte had a happy hour and then a group of us went to dinner. Welcome to Angela and Martin of South Africa and Drew and Ashley of Texas, we should have some good times ahead!

Dream-boat *Updated*

When thinking of a dream-boat, my mind used to wander to Johnny . . .

Or maybe Leo . . .

But not anymore! My mind will now always remember this beautiful dream-boat:

Actually, the term "boat" seems almost derogatory to use for this extravagant piece of luxury. I think that "mega-yacht" is more suitable. I just found myself gazing at her, thinking "Who must own her, who may be renting her, what would I name her and how in the world can I get aboard?". Bob suggested that I swim out to it, but it is pretty far away. It looks closer in real life, I had to use my zoom to get this photo (my camera isn't very sophisticated). I wish I had Rachel or Victoria or Courtney's camera to take the photo properly.

UPDATE: The yacht is the Octopus and belongs to Paul Allen, Co-Founder of Microsoft. It is the eighth largest super yacht in the world and cost 200 million USD to build in 2003.

Nordwald - Podany Christmas

What a smart looking group! It turns out I did take pictures the first night we were in KC at our friends Lindsay and Travis's house. We did a small present exchange and we were given a package of fake mustaches for Bob (thanks a lot linds) and an ice cube tray with pirate skull and cross bones (SO COOL).

Travis gave Lindsay the cutest beagle puppy for their anniversary. Her name is Emma and she is now three months old and a little rambunctious at times. Here she is trying to remove my sock.

After a wonderful dinner of Mi Ranchito we got our guitar hero on and did some jamming. Bob and Travis played most of the time while Linds and I laughed.

We really had a great time hanging out, it was just like old times! Hopefully we can do it again next year. Maybe we will even get to have Siena and Emma meet. I'm sure they will be fast friends.

I think this pictures pretty much sums Emma up :)
